I am a professionally certified social studies educator, with experience teaching secondary school and coaching multiple sports in Georgia and Colorado. For the past decade, I have taught college History and Education, most recently at MSU Denver, where I also mentored social studies student teachers. My undergraduate degree is from Michigan State; I have a MA in History from Rutgers (NJ) and MS in Education from the State University of NY. I have written two books, a memoir, and a biography of boxer Jack Johnson. I enjoy spending time with my wife and son; we are often found traveling, hiking, camping or gardening. I am also in a fantasy football league that started in 1989. While in Georgia, I co-founded a home-school parent cooperative with a holistic philosophy, and am excited to work with secondary students again in creating a safe, positive environment to facilitate their success and growth on every level.
