Speaker Series: Our weekly Wednesday lunch time Speaker Series provides a wonderful opportunity for our student population to learn more about topics of interest in the community-at-large. We welcome ideas for possible topics and speakers. Please contact Ms. Judi Stein at (303) 783-0137 with the topic and contact information of the possible speaker.
Field Trips: We firmly believe that Field Trips benefit our student population by enhancing their knowledge as well as broaden their understanding of current classroom curriculum by experiencing topics in person. Follow our Field Trip adventures on our Facebook page!
Special Events: April is National Autism month.
The Denver Performing Arts Center will show A Curious Incident of the Dog at Night at the end of May/beginning of June. For more information, please visit: http://www.denvercenter.org/shows/specific-series/Get?Id=84f3913c-94ac-494b-b7db-657fd0762621
General Announcements: As with any snowy day, if you feel that your child should not attend, drive to school, or needs to leave early because of road conditions, you are always encouraged to make a judgment call for what is best for you and for your child. You are welcome to pick up your child or send us written permission via email for your child to drive themselves home or ride home with another parent/student who is arriving or leaving early. Attendance recordings of Tardy are typically waived on snowy days.
Snow Day Closure Procedures Humanex Academy typically, but not always, closes school in accordance with the closing of schools in two different school districts (districts may include Denver, Littleton, Jefferson or Douglas County). The Administrative Team will make the final decision regarding the closing of the school and then will (1) contact the television stations by 6:00 a.m. regarding the snow day closure as well as (2) send out a community email to families by 6:30 a.m. using the email system. Finally, a snow day closing notice will be (3) posted on the Main Page of the Humanex website too.
