Dressing for the Cold!
Now that our Colorado Winter is upon us, here are a few helpful tips to deal with the cold. Please remember to dress in layers for both inside and outside the school.
Physical Education Classes
In general, we expect and encourage the Physical Education Instructors to be outside unless the conditions do not allow it. The final decision will be up to the Instructor’s discretion but, as long as it is above freezing temperatures, please help your child to be prepared to be outside!
Traveling and Attendance for Snow Day
As with any snowy day, if you feel that your child should not attend, drive to school, or needs to leave early because of road conditions, you are always encouraged to make a judgment call for what is best for you and for your child. You are welcome to pick up your child or send us written permission via email for your child to drive themselves home or ride home with another parent/student who is arriving or leaving early. Attendance recordings of Tardy are typically waived on snowy days.
SNOW DAY CLOSURE PROCEDURES
Humanex Academy typically, but not always, closes school in accordance with the closing of schools in two different school districts (districts may include Denver, Littleton, Jefferson or Douglas County). The Administrative Team will make the final decision regarding the closing of the school and then will (1) contact the television stations by 6:00 a.m. regarding the snow day closure as well as (2) send out a community email to families by 6:30 a.m. using the email system. Finally, a snow day closing notice will be (3) posted on the Main Page of the Humanex website too.
