Summer Program

Many students benefit from attending summer school.  In some cases parents are seeking a structured environment in which their child can spend the summer.  In other situations, juniors choose to attend summer school so they can achieve a goal of graduating a semester early.  Students also often choose summer school in order to make up credits that they may have failed to earn in the public schools.  Whatever the reason, Humanex students find summer school a positive addition to their summer vacation and an opportunity for even more intensive academic instruction.

On occasion, Humanex also offers art classes during summer school or one-week art or activity camps, giving students a more hands-on opportunity to earn credit and spend time in a positive way.   We find opportunities like this to be especially in demand for students who are not yet old enough to hold summer jobs.  Information about which summer activities will be offered beyond regular summer school classes is available each April.

Humanex Academy offers three weeks of summer school courses each June.  Sessions meet from 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon (for four class periods) and generally offer four primary academic subjects—English, science, math and social studies.

Students can attend one, two or all three weeks of summer school.   Our counselor can make a recommendation about how much time might be needed for students to finish any classes that are still in progress.  Registration materials for the summer session are available from our office manager during April each year. Humanex offers a slight tuition discount when families enroll their child for all three weeks of the summer session.
