Frequently Asked Questions
What do Humanex Academy graduates do after high school?
Traditionally, 70-80 percent of Humanex graduates have attended four year universities or community colleges. In the last five years, Humanex Academy students have enrolled in the following schools:  Fort Lewis College, University of Colorado at Boulder, Colorado State University, Mesa State, Colorado School of Mines, and the University of Denver. Students who do not choose to attend college often enroll in technical schools to continue their education or enlist in the military.

Does Humanex have an open campus?

We have found that having a closed campus helps us to be more effective with helping students make good decisions and contributes to a positive school community. Therefore, Humanex Academy has a closed campus, although we do offer many opportunities to leave campus for field trips.

What are the class sizes at Humanex?
Humanex Academy maintains a very low student to teacher ratio, and this approach is a significant strength as far as our individualized instruction. Over the past five years we have had a 7:1 student-teacher ratio in the majority of classes.  Exceptions to this guideline are sports class and public speaking, which are best taught as group classes.  We are committed to keeping class sizes small as we teach each student individually.

What does the name Humanex stand for?
Humanex is short for “the human experience.”  We believe that all students should have access on education that meets their individual academic and emotional needs. When this is accomplished, students have access to the true human experience and can make the most of their inherent skills.
