Why are We Different?

Humanex Academy recognizes that every student is unique and must be treated as such. Our goal is to help those who have not had the opportunity to find an environment that would lead to academic success as well as to help them establish healthy boundaries and take individual responsibility. We stand out in the field based on the three core elements of our program:




	

		

			1. Academic Curriculum
			We provide significant individualized instruction, including pacing and leveling, tailored to each student’s abilities and learning style.
		

		

			2. Extensive Counseling
			We provide full-time counseling and emotional support which is coordinated with other mental health and educational services. 
		

		

			3. Love and Logic
			We approach behavior management with support, supervision, and a clear, but flexible structure.
		

	





Students feel safe in our small school environment, and our small class sizes limit distractions.  We communicate with parents regularly via daily progress reports.  No failing grades are allowed; students learn to correct their errors so that concepts are truly learned.  Students set goals and are rewarded for meeting them.

	
Methods That Work


	
Humanex Academy offers a wide variety of courses constructed within a self-paced curriculum and implemented by a staff highly trained in diverse teaching methods which support brain function research.  Kinesthetic, visual, auditory and other teaching methods are often absent in public school settings.  Humanex students benefit daily from strategies related to these important methods.



	
Most importantly, we show young people that the way THEY learn can be an asset rather than a handicap.



	
Along with maintaining a closed campus and using the Love and Logic approach, we provide a strong foundation of direct instruction in order to help students fulfill graduation requirements.
